The PADI Tec Basics Specialty is aimed at the slightly more experienced diver who wants to learn the basic skills of twinset diving with a view to either continuing technical diver training or to just know how to use a twinset correctly. This specialty can also be credited towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver certification and DSAT Tec Deep Diver when you continue your Technical Diver Training.

PADI Tec Basics is designed to allow you to dive within the scope of recreational limits and is designed to be a bridge from PADI recreational courses to DSAT technical courses providing you with an opportunity to experience some of what technical diving has to offer. You will learn and practice entry level tec diving skills, such as twinset use, shutdowns and stage use. It introduces you to tec diving without having to make the larger commitment (in terms of equipment, time and cost) of the DSAT Tec Deep course. If you're interested in technical diving, but not sure if your ready for the DSAT Tec Deep Diver Course the PADI's Distinctive Specialty Tec Basics is for you. The specialty will be credited towards your DSAT Tec Deep Level 1 Course when you wish to continue your Technical Training.

Tec Basics dive scope is within recreational limits, it uses segments from DSAT Tec Deep Level 1 Course. The course is designed to be a bridge from PADI courses to DSAT courses providing you with an opportunity to gain exposure to tec diving and learn and practice entry level tec diving skills. It introduces you to tec diving without having to make the larger commitment (in terms of equipment, time and cost) of the DSAT Tec Deep course.

What do I need to start?

• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
• PADI Enriched Air Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
• PADI Rescue Diver (is recommended)
• Be 18 years of age
  

What will I do?

You will do complete Knowledge Review 1 and 2 after reading chapters 1 and 2 from the Tec Deep Manual then you will do two Confined Water Dives (pool) followed by two Open Water Dives (max depth 24 metres)

What's included in the course fee?

Tec Deep Diver Manual, which includes student manual, planning slate and checklist slate (need a week before the start of the Course to complete some Knowledge Reviews etc)
